Exclamation evap leak

i took my car to get it smogged and it failed because i have a leak in my evap system... i was told it could be a bad gas cap, egr valve, charcoal canister, bad hoses or gaskets but i dont know how to find the leak... how will i go about finding it? keep in mind i have tools but not specialty tools like vacuum pumps or gauges.

I had the same problem with my eclipse, it turned out I had a large hole in my filler neck. I discovered it when I first got the car and gassed up at the pump, I had gas shooting out of the hole when the fuel reached the top. I had to order a new filler neck and replace it. Talk about weird.

check all your hoses and gaskets for anything leaking first (always check for leaks) and as far as the egr or charcoal canister, im pretty sure the car would throw a code for either of those, if nothing else check for rust holes in your exhaust.
