Exaust system

RE: Exaust system
The cheapest place would be a local shop...not many big name companies make dual muffler setups for the eclipse 4 cylinders. I've only seen one and i think it was at RPW in Australia and was for the 1g eclipse. The thing with dual muffler exhausts is that they can actually reduce backpressure and create turbulence in the exhaust flow thus causing a loss in power. That is...if they're not made right. People usually want the biggest pipes possible for they're N/A spyder or non-turbo eclipse, and generally go with a 3" piping all the way to the end. Well, 3" on a single exit system is already not good for a 2.4liter naturally aspirated engine redlining at around 6500rpm. Now, routing a 3" system into 2 seperate 3" pipes at the end of the system only worsen things. Way less backpressure, too much turbulence, and sometimes a horrible sound coming out the back. If you want your own custom exhaust, go with a single 2.5" or 2.75" pipe that seperates *late*(like right where the rear wheels are, below the gas tank) into 2 2" pipes. AND USE MUFFLERS!!! This *theoretically* gives good performance, and is like a factory setup on the s2000 and 4 cylinder accord. Hope this gives you some idea of what to do.

RE: Exaust system
thanx for the info. right now i think i have a 2.75 or a 3" stock pipe that came on it when my mom got it. but you think it would be better that i keep it a single pipe instead of dual? im just wondering.
i have a 6cyl. w/ a 3.0L tho.
