Default A few questions...

Can anybody tell me what a 2003 Eclipse GT Spyder with a 3.0 v6 will top out at? It has the 4-speed sportronic.
Also, My friend has a Celica with a few minor mod's, he says hes pushing 160 hosepower, anybody think the eclipse will beat him? Thanks in advance.

is he runnin a gt or gts? 140 to 180 hp respectively. mitsu 2003 eclipse gt spyder has a base hp of 210. you do the math. only thing might be rev limiter. I dont know if it has one and what speed it is set at.

I might suggest making sure you car is in tip top shape if you are serious about beating this guy. new high flow air filter- or entire intake. good treads. new sparks, good oil. all makes a slight difference. let us know how badly you beat him.

The race may not be for awhile, but see, his car has 140 base horsepower and like a 1.8 4cyl. But he does have an exhaust and some other stuff, he told me but im not for sure what all, he has nitrous but he said he isnt going to use it. He said that he has gone 130 in his car before, and has 160HP without NOS.

well you already have a 50 hp avantage... as for top speed... somebody else will have to answer...

if you want to cream him... drop a little money get a good exhaust and intake... +20 hp... should make it a cake walk...

I am calling BS on him. Ask to see his engine. Unless he is running a turbo and nitrous then he is full of it. Most people run either or and not a whole lot run both unless your trying to get rid of turbo lag and then you will have to be pushing alot to want to run a small shot of nitrous.

Your Eclipse will take it or at least give it a run for it's money. Your car will not hit 130 but in a quarter mile you won't need to hit that anyway. You should hit only 120 at the most before your gov. kicks in.

y an intercooler... you have an intercool for a turbo because the compression also heats up the air... an intercooler on a non turbo car would only act as an air restriction unless it is ice water cooled or something wacky. im callin BS too. take him...

You never know. Wouldn't be the first idiot to install a non-functional intercooler just for looks.
