Default Forge BOV...need help

Ok so I had this Forge BOV lieing around the house ..it was made for a Mazda Protege originally, but since it uses the same idea , i figured i could ghetto rig it onto my eclipse . So I got it all in and well, it sounded sweeettt. Thing is though the vac line that goes to the turbo Intake...i did'nt close it off becuase i dont have anythnig to close it off with. Does anyone have an idea of how to close it off? second is why i want to close it off. I took it on the road just to see how it sounded and well I think Im WAYYYYY OVERRR BOOSTING right now. like it was pulling insanely hard so i instantly knew somethnig bad was up. Is it that I have that intake just open (I'm sure that's most likely why...since now the turbo is getting all the air it wants..) or the bov setup? any help is appreciated ,thanks! have pics too:

You are running lean with that tube open. The air coming in from there is not metered, thus, the extra air is not being compensated for with fuel, and it is also not filtered. The other thing is that you are venting to atmosphere because you've got a Forge BOV instead of their DV and so you then run rich when shifts. I see a utt load of issues with what you have right there. Put it back the way it was or get a MAF+T and plug that recirc tube.
To close off the tube, you can always go to your local parts store and ask for a plug...just show them what you need.
How do you know that you're over boosting? Do you have an aftermarket boost gauge? What color is the spring inside the BOV? It should be yellow or at least the lowest spring rate...green.

You know what, I would suggest taking it off and putting on the stock bov. After you have the info, plug, and MAF+T, that's when I would suggest putting it back on.
To be honest with you...sound is the dumbest reason to vent because of running rich and crappy idle...on top of that, you don't even have the recirc tube plugged and you drove it around WOT...I hate to be a dick...but, come on.

Thats a really quick way to kill that motor with that tube open like that.
Mine wouldnt even run like that.
Why you gained power i have no idea unless your old BOV is stuck open like mine was or leaking bad. that thing should baraly run the way you have it. it HAS to be detonating being that lean. and you can melt a hole in a piston really quick. Like silver said keep it recirculated or go with a MAF translator and GM MAF so you can vent that BOV like that or it'll never run worth a ****. i personally hate the sound of a BOV because thats all i hear from all these ricers around here.

If i were you i would just get a bov that you can Recirculate. For the reasons that they stated. But if you insist on using this BOV. there are rubber caps you can buy at autozone. Ussually they come in a pakage with different sizes. However your car still will not run right if you are vented. When you try and come to a stop or if you press the clutch after boosting, your car will bog.

well, I dont have an after market gauge but i figured i was overboosting because ias i went into boost my car spun out and i could feel a surge like 3 times greater than normal....and i know a non recirculkating bov is not going to make my car run that much greater.

The spring in the BOV is the yellow spring , i did'nt switch with the green one. I also think maybe it's leaking through maybe the way i set it up. it'd be nice to have a boost guage to be able to tell whats happennig better.....im going to take it off for now just because im' not going to blow the motor just to make it. Oh and sorry that you think it's "ricer" to have a bov. I dont though...thus ill just find a more safe alternative. maybe....hardpipes with a better bov?

I don tthink its "ricer" to have a BOV vented, i just got extremely annoyed by the "PSSHHHHHH" sound every 5 seconds from the ricer group around here. They drive down the road on & off the throttle every foot and thats all you ever hear. its enough to make you wanna throw **** at them.
If you like the sounds thats all you and i dont have a problem with it at all.
Ill keep mine quiet. ( i put a thing called a whizzer on the end of it for fun once)
