Default free upgrades? maybe?

I just got a 99 gst. it's stock evrything except for a injen intake. What are some easy and free things I can do to my car to increase the hp.

Also does any one now what the stock boost psi goes up to.

Cut the dumptube that sits inside the intake pipe from the BOV.....make the hole in the nipple on the stock boost controller slightly bigger......

This may not increase hp, but it is free. Lose some weight. On both you and the car..., no seriously, you can remove the sund deadening under the carpet to lose a good bit of weight. The sound deadening material isn't all that great, with the top up on my spyder, couldn't hear any difference in road noise when driving. It's a good bit of weight too, i can't remember how much off hand, but i remember i scraped off quite a lot of it. It doesn't increase hp, but it is free! And put down that bacon cheeseburger, eat a carrot or something....

I would recomend that injen intake to anyone. My mpg went up by 2 miles and I get an agressive sound not to mention more HP. The only down side would be finding the right size filter(4.5" base) w/o paying $40 or more.

get a boost gauge.if your going to be increasing boost you will need a good gauge.the stock boost level for a 2g t-25 is around 8-10psi?you can turn this up with a mbc,but do not go more then 16psi. what are your goals with the car,do you just want a little extra power or are you wanting to get serious with it. that will help you with what direction you should go.

I am just looking for some more pick up. So that I can beat any mustang on the road. So if I can get up to 250hp I would be happy.

What is a good boost guage to get and how much do they run?

with 250 hp you can beat a mustang and a gt mustang, but a svt cobra is going to walk you.

What do the GST's run in the real world? Cause a fox body notch 5.0 (87-93) mustangs can break into high 13's with a decent/good driver cause they're so much lighter than the hatch and verts. 250 is far from beating any mustang on the road.
svt cobra is going to walk you
especially if it's a 2003 with 390hp. With a catback exhaust and a blower pulley they can break into 12's.
