Default Gas meter

My gas meter has been very inaccurate and unstable. At times it would go down significantly, as though I'm burning up fual THAT fast. THen the next time I drive, the the needle would actually go back up, as if I'm getting gas as I go. My mechanic has no idea what could cause that. Does anyone know?

Your fuel level card on the sending unit probably has sulfur build up on it. Try using techron fuel system cleaner in the gas and drive it. If that dosent work you'll need a new sending unit/fuel pump assembly.

Pretty much all gas gauges will move slowly when around full, then suddenly dive.
