Default Good olda Rs

Well i just wanted to get some opinions on what i should do...yes i know that everyday we have people asking what can i do next or should i add this bla bla bla...but i hope you guys can help me with some ideas lol

Ok so ive had my eclipse Rs for about 2 years! it was my first owned car...i currently reached 80,000 miles its a 1998 eclipse Rs..
the car has never given me problems and when i bought the car it was STOCK everything was stock..
ive always dreamed with getting a Gs-t but money is always a major issue
but i will getting 1,500 from my college( it pays to have financial aid lol) so i was thinking should i sell my Rs and add the 1,500 that i will get so buy a gs-t..
there seems to be a major problem here in miami...ive tested driven like 2 gs-t but the owners have ridden car hard! and either the engine is messed up or they did this or that! so i havent really found a good buy...

my other option is to
keep my Rs and just add little things to the car...i know that an intake and some headers wont make my car Fast! but is it worth putting money on my Rs? im not trying to be the faster car out there but something decent that i will enjoy
or maybe i should stick to adding things that would make my car nicer! body kit,Tail lights ect...

all i have on my car right now is... an intake and a Exhaust nothing big like i said i havent put much on the car
besides H4 metal white bulbs,h3 metal white alogen lights, metal white bumper lights( can you tell i like metal white lol) and my two 12 Punch speakers with 900 watt amp o and my sony mp3 radio...

SOrry if im boring you guys to death but if you did read my post i would love to hear your opinion thank you!

honestly, in my opinion. i think the rs is better for show. and the gst/gsx is better for performance. you could do a lot as far as style goes with the rs. and if u put a bigger alternator, you could put in a really nice system. My alternator is on its way so i can finnally put my dual 12" Type R subs in it!!

The money you would spend on all the "looks" for the car you could be saving on getting a GST. If you really wanted you could turbo the RS but for the money that you would probably have to put into it, it still wouldnt be all that fast. I would just keep looking around for a GS-t. Never settle for less than what you really want because youll regret it. Later on if you spend all that money to make your car look good youll be mad that you didnt just save to get a GST in the first place

it's really a matter of preference, are you more intersted in show or go? if it's show you are looking for you can order a body kit and cf hood off ebay for about 800 and spend the rest on a paint job, or little things like tail lights, turbo wing, tinting windows etc. if your lookin for go, than i'd say sell and get a gst, if you look hard enough they are not hard to find, you can find them on cars.com, autrotrader.com, ebay.com. they are quick from the factor but not very fast and then again there's the point you made with people doggin them very hard and not to mention the crankwalk factor. now if ur lookin for a median here, you may just wanna order a body kit form ebay, (not sure about ur intake or exhaust - is it a no name intake? is it a full catback exhaust?) get an AEM intake, catback exhaust (no bigger than 2.5in) and Venom sells a chip that you can easily install on the RS and GS to increase ur HP up to 25% (yes it really works, i have one) and mabey a lightweight flywheel. like i said it's all a matter of preference.

First of all thanks to all of you for replying and giving me your opinions thanks

the intake i have is AEm and yes i do have a full catback exhaust sorry i forgot the mention that!
well ive been dying to get a gs-t but people seem to sell them to high for example i want one that has atleast less than 80,000 miles and when i do find one either the person is selling it at 10,000 and the car is not in good condision! the other day i test drove one and i dont know if this is good or not but i looked under tha car and it was mad rusty! and they had put something on the car oil to make it look clean( my dad went with me he knows about that junk)

i really like you car the blue one in the pic you said it was a rs/gs..whats the difference? is there a diff between a gs and rs in HP?
you see the body kit i can get it for 300 we have a friend who works at this warehouse that distrubites the products to local stores..so we get the price from the warehouse( im not sure how you call that but we dont pay full price) you know local stores sell them items higher so they can get profit! so if its tailights and so on we get them cheaper
hmmm interesting about that venom chip does it really work like how much more HP did you get? you said 25% but how much is that( sorry if that was a stupid question) how much did you pay for the venom chip?and um whats a lightweight flywheel..

Liked i said this car has never given me problems its in perfect condition..and its so hard to find a nice Gs-t that has not been ridding hard! but i just have to wait for the right time!

lmao thats great... so your saying that if you have a 100hp car that little box will add 25hp to your car? Do you know what that little box does? Its a maf modifer, it lies to the computer about how much air is entering the motor, it just adds some fuel

review from a 420a site... this was one of the better ones.
[quote/]I bought them venom 400 and did gain 0-60 times by about .3 of a sec but did not experience the 25% increase in power. If your car dose not get up to speed fast enough for you this mod will help slightly. [/quote]

for 300 bucks you can get soo much more or save up for something alot better... like a safc.

Anyway if your on a budget then a 2g 420a is not the way to go to make power. I would recomend getting a 1g gsx/tsi awd, you would probally break even for selling your car and getting a low mile nice 1g. Just my 2 cents.

safc= super air fuel controler, in a nut shell it controls the amount of fuel the injectors let into the motor. If you dont know what your doing or dont want to pay someone to tune it for you dont get one.

I had a rs with a short ram intake, 60mm a855 tb, kamikazi hedder, gutten cayt, s.5 custom ss cayt back, dc sport ss muffler, sloted rotors, some clutch mods, other little speed mods. I asume that i was pushing some where between 150-160hp (stock is 140). I cant say exactly how much I had, never dynoed it, it proly was more then that, but I dont give the car all that much credit.

Towards the end of my owning it, about a year ago, I had made a custom stage one turbo kit for it, installed the fuel system, electronics, and ran the oil lines but got some cool tickets, sold the rest of the turbo kit, sold the car, it was a ****ty day.

If you want to check out the car, hit www.video.google.com and search "eclipse 420a" my car should come up.

If I could do it over again, I would have sold my rs and gotten a nice 1g and worked the **** out of the stock 14b on that thing and eventually switch over to a 20g setup.
