Default gst ecu for testing on tsi awd.

either my ecu is dead, or crank sensor went out, poot has a hardly working ecu he can sell to me for a few bucks, just for testing purposes, but will the plugs even match up on the ECU?
we both have turbo 5 speed, but his is FWD..... i dont plan on using his ecu, i just want to see if my car will even turn on with his.

Do not know for sure but doesn't the 1st gen setup uses a Cam angle sensor that also acts as the Crank angle sensor. A guess since my car has no crank angle sensor on my 2nd gen. Using a 1st gen CAS to do the job of it.

LOL i see not everybody speak my language. I am no pro. Nor do i own a 1st gen. But in my 2nd gen i have a 6 bolt and to keep installation simple it is using the 1st gen Cam angle sensor. Thus eliminating the need for the Crank angle sensor since the 1st gen Cam angle sensor can also send the Crank angle signal to the ECU. This is to try an answer your other question.
