Default GST vs GSX

Help me out with this.

I was just told that the GST is quicker than the GSX if both were stock on a drag strip.

Is this true?

it all depends on the driver really. The GSX is AWD so the tires aren't going to spin and it will hook up immediately allowing it to get a head start, but it is heavier than the GST. The opposite holds true for the GST. Its lighter, but the wheels will spin depending on how it is launched. They both have the same horsepower at the crank but more power is lost to the wheels on the AWD because of drivetrain loss. i.e. the GST only has to transfer power to the front two wheels while the GSX has to transfer it to all four. I hope that makes sense and i hope i helped to explain it a little better for you. Have a good one.

Makes perfect sense. Thanks

In your opinion, what would you rather own?

GST or GSX

GSX FTW!! The only time the GST is really faster is on the highway at a high speed pull

haha like rob said, "I would never go back." My eclipse was the first AWD i've ever owned. After feeling the way it sticks to road around curves, the way it handles in snow and rain, and never spinning tires, I would never buy another car that didn't have AWD. I'm glad i helped you brother.

Stock for stock, the GST is going to be quicker in the straight aways. This is because there is less drivetrain loss, so it will make a little more power to the ground, and two, its lighter.

As soon as you start adding any sort of modification, the GST's traction issues become really obvious, and it holds you back. So, if you plan on modding the car at all, GSX for you. If you plan on just using it for a DD, then GST. No point in spending the extra $$$.

I would rather own the GSX even if it was a DD. Mostly because i drive hard... and i need the grip.

Also, if you are a bodykit person, i would suggest neither. I would suggest a GS or an RS lol.
