Nice how you cut and paste, and you also need to read that page alittle better and get back to me. That is talk about when they we manufactured......so if those engines where made in 92.5 then................................... they will be put in the 93.5 model.

It has been reported that 'small rod' / 7-bolt flywheel motors (manufactured from later 1992 through 1994 on 1Gs) are more prone to crankwalk than 'big rod' / 6-bolt flywheel engines (manufactured from 1989 to early 1992). However, there can be no guarantees, since big block V8s and all other engines can also suffer from crankwalk.

sooo 92s did have a 6bolt as well as 7 bolt later in the year. as far as V8s crank walking that is kinda a retarded point they made. who cares anything prob. can crank walk but its not as prone to have the problem like the 2Gs

plus I think this arguement started with someone saying 95-99s walked. so this was the beigining of that crankwalk FAQ

1G owners do not generally need to worry, as there are no chronic problems with crankwalk in per-1995 cars. 95-99 were tha main problem years that is all that was said earlier

i know what it says it was more prone to crankwalk in 2G but teh 7bolt was put in late 92 and is still way more prone to crankwalk than a 6bolt under all technicality like it said on the page ALL MOTORS ARE PRONE TO CRANKWALK so now we need Electrical motor fast cars dont buy a petroleum based motor it will crankwalk all besides the fact crankwalk only effects i beleve it was said 3% of the dsm market.

Man you need to get off of this, sure every motor may develop it....but in the 2G it was a major RECALL problem so just drop it. The kid wants to know whats the best year and its the 1992.

Ill agree with ya there 92 is the best year but the 6bolt motor is still more reliable than the 7bolt so i suggested a early 92 manufacture date you got on my case about it facts are facts 7bolt was manufactured and introduced in late 92 and all 7bolts are more prone to it than 6bolts all i said.

the 4G63 in the 2Gs was recalled for a major problem who cares if all motors "can" form the problem what is the % that do of all other motors out there. you cant even research it cause all you find is 2G DSMs. other wise you think they would be fussing about the EVO walking the crank or even other cars outside of mitsu itself. The only time I have ever heard anything about a crank walking it has always been about a 2G never anything else the % of 2Gs that do vs other motors that have makes the 2G motor look bad because it happens alot. I still say the 1G was the best eclipse I like its looks better than the 2G which that is just preference but it is my opinion. others see it differently and that is cool

i never said 2g was only 3% of walk in all cars not hat i ment i ment it is somwhere in the range of 3% of the 7bolt motor were effected majorly by crankwalk i think it is way overstressed in the 7bolt to the point people are telling these noobs dont buy a 7bolt it will crankwalk. but i am done arguing with this stupid subject.

3% is enough for me not to want one. not that 3% is bad but if I were to buy one I would have a 6bolt fund started just in case. I have been in that trouble before and haveing a motor blowup when your not ready or expecting it is never fun to deal with. I know of alot of people who have 2Gs and walk or are walking. the only one I havent seen was my buddies talon that had 135K on it but it had trouble with everythin else other than that lol.
