i got a 96 gst and it is @ 141K and it has had no crankwalk issues or symptoms another 50-100k and i will rebuild it anyways so no worries. I know about 3 people that live in the same city as me that are the same no issues.

WELL...back to the question if your looking to beat mustangs than any 1G or 2G will do. Its another story when your talking about camaro's. From a stop ya you could but the Modded LT1 and LS1's are very very good top end cars it will take alot of knowledge to take one down. Anyways how you can find some help through this mess of a thread.

thanks for the replies, yha i want a sleeper, so a 1G would be my best bet i guess, all my friends said it looked like a P.O.S so yha i think that vouches for it. anyways i was wondering whats the difference between the 91 and 92 gsx? cuz i found a 91 with a rebuilt engine and he wants 1800, all it needs is new paint due to oxidation, idk is it a good deal? he said everything else is good:eclectrical, interior. well also what would be the cost of making the 91 just like the 92, if there is a big difference. thanks

3% is enough for me not to want one. not that 3% is bad but if I were to buy one I would have a 6bolt fund started just in case. I have been in that trouble before and haveing a motor blowup when your not ready or expecting it is never fun to deal with. I know of alot of people who have 2Gs and walk or are walking. the only one I havent seen was my buddies talon that had 135K on it but it had trouble with everythin else other than that lol.
Yea i really did have just about every other type of problem with it. The major problem being the suspension sucks, i never did fix that before i sold it, LOL. I have owned a 2g and even though you may buy one and never get crankwalk, the thought is always in your mind when your modding the car and beating on it. You'll always have that in the back of your head saying "maybe i shoudn't do that, i might crankwalk". If i ever was to buy a dsm again i would go with the early 1g's.

Well Im just saying that the 92 is the strongest on paper. But I had a 91 and NEVER had and major problems with it. I was dropping the clutch at 7000rpms somtimes and the rear end never went. I got a best of a 1.71 60 foot time on a stock clutch. For that money I would go with the 91, you can always swap a 4 bolt rear into it.

the 1G is def. a sleeper but I think they like nice. Id take one over a 2G for sure. I dont think they are that bad looking cars I mean come on they are early 90s look at what other cars looked like back then. the honda accord and civic were both alot worse looking lol
