crankwalk is a issue with all 2nd gen eclipses with the 7 bolt motor. does not happen to everyone of them, but its always on the back of everyones mind.

the only way to know for sure is to check with the dealership. is the car having problems now or are you just worried that it will.

Supposedly the 97-99 Eclipse and 97-98 Talons have a less likely chance of walking because, supposedly, the 95-96 models had a bad batch of cranks. Regardless, crankwalk is the issue you speak of and is overrated. Any manual can get it and any car that is taken care of may still get it but it's less likely. Take care of your car, it will take care of you..period.
I've yet to read a crankwalk issue where the owner (and previous) have taken care of the car and it still walks.

Btw, who's telling you this? Is he/she a 4g63 owner? If not, take their info about it with the tiniest grain of salt because that's only a tiny bit of info.

it can happen, but not necessarily, and if it does, just save up and drop in a 6 bolt.[/align]
