could be your idler screw needs to be adjusted, maybe plugs, maybe battery. i remember when my car did that its cuz my plugs were bad. and make sure you get NGK iridiums.

Lol, Civic and Eclipse...both cars with motors, but still apples and oranges, lol. You can't compare one to the other.
When was the last time you gave your Eclipse a tune up? Plugs and wires like Jerusry stated, oil change, new battery, and so on.

i got the car tune up about a month or so ago, didnt do the tune up myself. local shop did it for me. those ngkiridiums spark plug, do you order from ebay or auto advance have it. where is the idles screw located? does it need to open up or close it? even i reverse the engine will turn off too.

it don't matter which way you turn it, just have to have the idle set to about 800rpm's. also, the ngk... you can go to almost any auto parts store and get them... they are usually 6-10 bucks a piece. check your plugs first. if they are not the ngk's...(sometime's shops are cheap bastards and try to put ****ty plugs in there), you might wanna replace them if not ngk.. and if they are looking a little "off-color" then you might wanna replace them. also, what modifications do you have done to your car? maybe it will help trouble shoot.

the car have 3" custom exhaust, greddy type s bov and a k&n air filter. and when the car warm up the idle is at 1500rpm. dont know if that is normal range for it.

i believe you should turn that screw outwards... to make the rpm go down. car should idle at 800rpms. i will get a pic of where the screw is you can tell which way you need to turn it... it will immediatley alter your idle rpm when you turn it. that idle is wayyy to high! ot os located right on your throttle body it is a phillips head screw.. look for it you'll know what i am talkin about.. i dont have a picture sorry.... just use a phillips head to adjust it. adjust it while the car is running...
