headlights?

RE: headlights?
I would go ahead and polish it. the yellowing is usually caused by oxidation on the surface of the lense, so by using a plastics polishing compound and taking your time it will come off and make the lense clear again. I would also recommend polishing your lenses at least as often as you wash and polish the rest of your car, no sense in having great paint if the lenses are all foggy.

RE: headlights?
do not put wax on your headlights!!!!! the waxes today are designed for 1 thing and 1 thing only, to protect the specific finishes used on todays vehicles. if you were to put wax on a headlight lense all it would do is create a film over top the lexan(most of todays lenses are made from a form or lexan) this film would cause increased dirt and dust collections causing the lenses to yellow and cloud again. I would suggest using mother's plastic polish, meguiars plastic polish,or blue coral plexi/plastic polish. If you were thinking of the wax in order clear water or the lenses when driving in the rain, I would also suggest using rainx for plastic(this can usually be found at motorcycle shops, I use it on my visor for my helmet). Regular rainx might work, but i would worry that the chemicals my bond with the plastic and possibly cause damage. just some more info for ya

Mothers makes a plastic polish for things like headlights, it will take scratches and and stuff like that and it should also be able to take out some of the discoloring cause if I remember right it's slightly abrasive as well. Find something specifically for plastic don't just take something you think will work.
