so I'm back with a new problem. i have a 96 gst and was at the drag strip last Friday and was launching and the car just flat out died. it will run with a bouncing idle and lots of black smoke that smells like its just dumping raw fuel out the pipe and what sounds like a dead piston but i did a compression check and everything checked out. i have check the spark and that all good too so I'm 99% sure its not a spark problem but a fuel problem. i pulled the panel of to hear the fuel pump and it sounds fine but could it not be putting out enough pressure? and has anyone had the fuel presser regulator go out and is this what it did. i dint have a fuel pressure tester so I'm kinda shooting in the dark but the fact that I'm running so rich now makes me think its not the pump or clogged fuel filter. also it will sometimes rev up but when i start to let the clutch out and put it under load it will sputter out. any ideas would be great thanks
