I don't think so none of the classic crankwalk symptoms were really present... I'm thinking it has something to do with an injector or 2 malfunctioning... Maybe leading to a breakdown elsewhere due to heat. It definately sounds like an upper end problem but the tick then pop you may have heard could definately be a VERY bad thing depending what popped...
