Default Help me hook up new subs

I just put in a new 12" kicker sub with amp on it. I hooked everything up. The ground wire is hooked. I hooked everything I needed I think. Im running it to the battery for power and I hooked it up the the back speakers with the one wire. I turn on the music and you can hear the sub, but barely. The amp light is on and everything. It is just not hitting. Please help me out.

on your head unit is your sub turned on, because on mine i have an option to play music with it on or off, also make sure your bass is turned up and not on -6 or something

it sounds like your problem is that you're trying to get the audio signal from the back speakers. You need to get a head unit that specifically has an RCA port for your sub. You can also try raising the "gain" on your sub to see if it helps at all, but I would suggest just hooking it up to radio instead of the rear speaker. Also, do you have a remote wire running from the head unit to the amp? That would also keep the sub from working.

dont worry... good q though would explain the lower volume specially if the head unit handles the subs separately
