ok i got this weird knocking sould coming from arounf the headers and engine block. i only hear it when i push on the gas, when i let up u can hear it, when i put it in to nutral at like 30mph u can hear it and the it stops knocking. i could really use you guys help. and thoughts plz.... .......................

 

sounds like sticky lifters maybe, is it high pitched or low?

 

a little high when stepin on gas then moderate when off the gas then it just gos away till i step o the gas again

 

does the knocking increase with RPMs?

 

a littlebit ,cant really tell when the car is moving because of the exhuast is to loud

 

well if it is fairly high pitched it is probobly the lifter tick. You can eaither replace them or you have try and use one of those engine flush treatments. You usually do it right before an oil change. Sometimes they can get gumed up and stick. That is what I would guess it is.

 

ok ill ask the machanic about it tomorrow morning when i take it to the shop to see whats wrong wiht it. thanks for the help!!

 

its just the lifters. Nothing really to worry about though. Changing the oil will sometimes make it a bit quieter. But again its nothing to really worry about. Its a fairly common thing

 

i changed the oil ( it was really low)and then drove it around the block a few times. No knocking for the first five minutes the the sound came back.

 

ok man, is ita tick or a knock?? that would help alot, lifters wont knock but they will tick
