the engine mounts should line up but you would need a new ecu and wiring harness i would just look for the same engine you have in there and do the direct swap that would probably be the best idea

Please dont put out mis-information like this. Because it takes alot of time and money to get that motor in there. Put it this way. If you wanted to drop the motor in you would need a complete 1g eclipse donor car to do it. You need all new motor mounts, tranny, head. And also there is alot of metal Fab that will be needed to do it. Its too much money and not work it. Just put another 420a in there

Agreed.. Just look at pictures of an engine bay on a turbo car and the N/A car.. Completely different..

Yea, do NOT try to convert 420a to 4g63t, its near impossible, and would cost more to do than to buy a GST. Been there before forums were around... (97 I think?) tried it on a whim, and its pointless. Get a GST if you want a turbo... or stick with a rebuilt 420a for your car and put a turbo on it.

Most of the DSM community, unless I am mistaken, prefers 4G63T, if you ask me... its just a much better motor. Though Ive met people that are extremely loyal to 420a and dont like the latter. Its really up to any given person. In the end, though, its likely to cost less to get a halfway decent GST.

IMO its better to go with a gst than try and turbo a 420a. Because on the stock bottom end you can only handle about 10psi. Then if you want more your gonna need to build it up. And there is more money and time. I thinks its better jsut to go with the 4g63t
