Hi everyone, i am new here and also a new driver. I just bought a 99 eclipse gs and bought a used remote on ebay.

But after i turn the car into program mode, which the door lock and unlock once, then i press the remote botton. nothing happen. it doesn't work with my car. i check the battery is ok.
it seems like this model does not match with my car. So do you guys know that if the remote model with FCC ID: HYQ12ABA can work with 99 eclipse?
Because all the guys selling remotes on ebay all posting that this model can work with all the model car including 99-2003 mitsubishi, eclispe, galant, lancer and outlander. So does anyone used that one work with any 99 eclipse? please help me with the program issue. Thanks a lot.

you are sure you do have an alarm or keyless entry on your gs right? <---stupid question but gotta ask

 

All the remotes that work with the 95-99 Eclipse/Talons state what TJ's links state in some form or another. Never use a remote from any years past 2k+. The freqs change for those latter years.
Sorry OP, but you'll need a different fob.
