As far as the spark plugs they just go which every one you want it in. With a Eclipse you will be able to tell which wires will go where because of the distance of the distributer, the longer ones go to 1,4 and the small ones go to 2,3. If you have them like that and its doing that, then switch the wires. Take 2,3 and switch them, and take 1,4 and switch them. I havent done my wires in awhile but i believe mine were labeled. Check on the wires to see if there is a number on it and i believe the distributor also has the numbers.-

the number dosen't have labels.. .. a few hours ago i tried, but it shook the engine kindda hard and choke out... it was scary... but i might do it again tomorrow.. or else.. no ride... so... how does it goes?.. 1,4 to the left, and 2,3 goes to the right?

cylinders are numbered from the passengers (right) side of the engine to the drivers (left) side of the engine. 1,2,3,4 1 being on the right (passengers) side and 4 being on the left (drivers') side.

On any 4 cylinder- number 1 is closest to the valve cover (or front of the engine). As far identifying which wire goes where, the cylinder should be identified on the coil or coil bracket or your GST (assuming that based on your tag). You may need to clean off the area to read the stamping. Good LUck!

just try swapping wires 2 and 3( the two middle ones) and see if that helps.
