Default from honda to eclipse. what should i know

ive had many hondas .. about 4 . i can take em apart with my eyes closed by now.. but ive gotten rid of all them and jus got a 97 eclipse RS . i know its base model and junk but i want to turbo it. its a five speed. will a turbo kit from a gst bolt right on? if so where can i gget the whole kit cheap? if not what turbo kits will? also i believe the compression is 9.6 - 1 . is the gst the same or lower? how much boost can i run on the RS motor safely? is there any hidden lil secrets i can do to the eclipse to make it faster? its kinda the same as my hondas were but im not used to it yet so just lemme know anything useful.

Umm im new the the eclipse scene to but i still ahve my old car. The GST turbo will not bolt up. I think the best turbo for the non turbo eclipse is the hahn racecraft turbo. Their car runs in the 13's with the stage 2 kit and stock internals. That should give you a little bit of an idea of what it can handle. Its a relatively cheap kit too.

saturn is right.. the rs and gs have a completely diff. engine than the gst and gsx 420a (I think) vs a 4g63. way different set up. go with the hann turbo kit. its the s**t.

cheap to me would be $2k. I've never seen any DSM kit for lower than that.

Remember, you get a cheap kit, you also get cheap parts. The HRC kit would be the best for the money. The Star kit is decent, the turbo is not the best though. Here's a little secret if you wanna put a turbo kit on your 420a: get a thicker head gasket. A thicker head gasket will lower compression a bit andgive more protection against detonation. It'll also let you run more boost on the stock pistons, but don't go overboard. If you're not ready for the turbo kit just yet, just upgrade the essentails; intake, exhaust, suspension...etc. Check out 2gnt.com(look at the mod telling people other people to go to another site).
