i got a tire question for yall i got a 97 eclipse and my room mate just gave me some 18's for it and i was wonderin how big of tire can i fit on it with out rubbin

Id say go with a 45 sidewall and you should be fine. Not sure on the width since i dont know the width of the rim

 

it depends on the width of the wheel

 

I run a 225/40/R18 on mine. It's lowered about 2.5-3 inches and will just scuff the rear tires on a really hard bump. My wheels are 7.5 inches wide. hope this helps.... almost forgot, you HAVE to make sure the offset is correct for your car otherwise they will rub either on the fender or the inner suspension components.

 

it all depends on how wide the wheel is... they come anywhere from 6.5" - 10.5"....

 

how big can you fit... well in all honesty, you can go as small as a 200/20/18, or as big as a 225/75/18.
just depends on how much you want to rub, and how lowered you are.
In all seriousness, we need more information here. Like how low is your car compared to stock, (how many inch drop)
how wide are your tires,
do you have anything adjusting the camber,
do you intend to lower it later.
blah blah blah.

 

incorrect. again. it depends on the size width you have.... i have an 8" wheel. at one time i had 220/30r18 but when i went to get my new ones they gave me the options of 220 up to 240. i'm runnin 230/40r18's on mine.

Could easliy be a 18inch wheel, 6 inchess wide, then again, could be a 18inch wheel thats 12inches wide. not enough info to make any educated guesses

 

That size does not exist.
The tires aspect ratio does not get measure in incriments of 0's.
goes in 10's starting at 5.
Exp: 205, 225, 245
And the aspect width on any tire does not go lower than a 30.
exp: 255/30/20.
A moderatley wide tire and a low sidewall.

Probally the best 18' to run would be a 215/40/18 on an 18x7.5 rim.
the tire would be wide enough for the rim, w/o any overedge, and still be low enough to clear the suspension as long as the offset of the rim is correct for the vehicle.
