Crankwalk is overrated, imo anyways, even tho It has happened to me. Most of the time people say there engine crankwalked it wasnt "actually" that. Especially If you buy an auto, you really dont have much to worry about. Mine crankwalked and I bout another 7-bolt anyways, granted i did get one from a 1st gen. But dont let crankwalk scare you unless you have "high hp goals"

I know 6 bolt would be the smart thing to do, but lets say the engine did c walk, and i decided to just get a rebuilt 7 bolt would it be as simple as taking out the mesed up engine and putting the rebuilt one in or does c walk mess other stuff up too. Im just trying to plan for the worse here. I dont have alot of money laying around and i cant have my car just sitting for months and months waiting to save up enough for a 6 bolt, but i should be able to swing $1500-$2000 installed for another direct replacement engine if it comes down to that.

Thanks,

yes all you'd have to do in worst case scenario is out with the old 7 bolt in with the new one. it wouldn't mess anything up exterior of the engine if that's wut u mean.

who said 5k for a 6 bolt? Thats ridiculous. Im selling my block with all internals for only $100. So yea thats not right at all, maybe from factory .

If i were you i wouldnt get too hung up on it. There are plenty of people that run the 16g without any problems

Thanks, alot engineer. Yeh, i have heard from several different people that it would cost around $5k to have a 6 bolt installed with the other little parts that are needed to make it work. That sounded redocolous to me as well. Unless they thought i meant a heavily modded and built one because i know when people put in new engines thay tend to build them before they go in but i dont want that much power just something to have some fun with. What do you think i should be looking at for a complete 6 bolt installed?

Thanks, for all your help.

maybe like 2k. 3k at the most. Depending on the price you spend on the block and how much a shop charges you. But once again this is all going on the thuoght process that you will ever need this done, which i dont think you will
