Default HP gain

In my 99 gs with 95k miles, what kind of HP gain will I see with intake, exhaust, throttle body upgrade, and a chip ( if they make one)??

Do they make shift kits for these auto tranny?

No shift kits for the auto trannys, howellautomotive.com only makes chips for 97's, and only 97's. No other company makes chips for 2gn/t's.

Intake-7hp
throttle body-5hp
exaust- 5 to 12 depending on what you get.

You have a GS, you are not going to get any noticable power from an intake or exhaust...

Noticabel is an opnionated word, so in your opnion an intake and an exaust (nearly 20hp) is not noticable. I dont know what you drive but 20hp is a fairly large gain, in the case of the 420a 4 tenths off the 1/4 mile(17.2-16.8). It may not sound like a big difference... to put this in perspective lets say your car runs a 15.0, and you lose 4 tenths of a second. That would put your 1/4 mile time at 14.60. Your old track runs at 15.00 et would be 92mph. At your new time of 14.60 your et would be 97mph. Both of those runs had identical r/t's of .5XX and a 60's of 2.3XX. So basically your saying 5mph is not a noticable difference. I am sure that if I used the difference between the 17.2 an the 16.8 the mph would be alot lower because the car is moving alot slower but to prove my point I only have track times lower then a 15.5. I would asume the difference in mph would be more towards 2-3mph... which would be the difference between standing still and walking. By the way if you have a dispute with the figures for the track runs I can pm you a link of both time slips.

A 20 hp improvment in my eyes is pretty good for an inexpensive and easy to do upgrade. I know a lot of my past cars they prolly didnt even help other than gas mileage so I was just seeing if anybody had any numbers for me.

I appreciate it slow420a

Is it worth doing much to the motor if its got 95k miles on it? What should I be doing around this mileage as far as maintenance to it? Are these strong running engines, meaning how many miles under normal driving conditions are they good for? same for trannys?

A guy on another forum has a 420a a 210k and still running strong. Check your timming belt, plugs, plug wires, and fuel filter.

No you are absolutely right 20hp is a big gain.

Let my clarify what I meant to say. I have an intake on my S-GS, do I have any noticable difference? No If I put an exhaust on that thing would I notice any big gains? Hell no
I guess what I meant to say is don't have high expectations with small mods.

Garanteed if you go and get an bigger tb, upgraded cai and full exhaust you might get 10 hp if that . You'll probably wont really notice the gain.

I went to U.T.I in pa and we took cars and put them on the dyno stock, then added intake and exaust. Most cars barley gained anything. Some cars actually lost hp and torque w/ a "cai".
