I jus bout a 98 eclipse spyder and i heard eclipse has alot of problems is that true?
i wanted to know what is your main problems on your eclispe?
the only problem i have right now is the clutch sticks and the belt squels when i down shift

... and what kind of problems did you hear about?
First off, what motor do you have? What do you mean the clutch sticks? The pedal or the actual clutch? How old is the clutch? Is there enough fluid in the tranny? Find out what belt is squealing then tighten its adjusting pulley.

I've had many spyders and yes they do have problems..... but so does any other vehicles lol, my biggest problems and most expensive problem is the transmission on the 2nd gen. IF anyone have any sugestion on transmission problem please help. I go to 60 mph with no problem then it drops as if it was on nuetral. the car has to slow down to 20mph b4 it goes into gears again.
