For a while now i have had a vision. I have come to notice that stock is quickly becoming the new modified. I am getting really tired of cracking fiberglass too. I have decided to go with the following and im wondering if anyone knows what it will look like or maybe they have the same vision.

I want to find a stock 97 front bumper and put a carbon lip on it just a small one to go around the bottom. Im also going to remove my side skirts. I think im maybe going to stick with my rear bumper because it was custom made and there isnt another one like it. Maybe i will go for a stock one without the gray lip along the bottom. For the paint i plan to respray the hood in a nice gloss black and have the rest of the car painted in a graphite kind of colour or a nice metalic silver. Maybe go for some less "blingy" rims. Im thinking like a cool set of gunmetal rims or maybe a good set of 5-6 spoke 20"s.

Anyone know what the paint will look like? It would be nice to have a 'goal picture'. Anyone else have a similar vision?

 

well getting the 97 front with the lip i think will look really nice. I like the idea for gunmetal rims...but dont go with 20's. I wouldnt get anything bigger than 18. but thats just me.

 

What makes you say that? I know a guy that had a lowered eclipse and they didnt rub or anything.

 

i wasnt saying it wouldnt fit. I just dont like rims that are huge.

 

I think the 18s on it now look a lil small. Maybe 19s would be better suited. Anyone know what it will look like?

 

yea 20's are def huge for an eclipse. I would stick with 18's. I have 17's on my 97 gst and its lowered and they fit in the wheel well pretty tight.

 

hey i feel ya man,i am gonna get a carbon fiber lip for my stock bumper,and keep the stock sides and rear,im just not much of a body kit fan anymore.I am in the process of doing 20's on my spyder now,i have tires but just need to decide on rims,i am looking at a black 5 spoke with a polished lip.To give you an idea check out my photo gallery it has 19's on it and lowered 2".I just got tired of them,looked small after a while.

 

Some people like the tractor tire lookin wheels on their car, personal preference I guess. Anything over 18 would really suck as far as having a "speedy" car until you hit 5th gear on the freeway.

 

i live in maine and i have 18s on my gst spyder and my ride quality is a little rough most everywhere to say the least. Unless you live on a dragstrip or and airport tarmac, I can't imagine what 19s or 20s would do to your ride quality.

 

if thats your car in your sig, then i just have to say that you have a ridiculous amount of decals.
