The engine is blown already.

Get a sound clip to confirm it.

Most likely its a spun bearing and not crankwalk

Well its not going to be cheap so dont bother.

Well.. you can listen. However if you take one bearing off.. you have to take all of them off.. .

If its a bearing then its gonna be a full bottom rebuild. So its not a cheap fix. If you can do it yourself then it wont be as bad.

i cant do it myself. i got a quote to replace the bearings for the parts and labor im lookin to pay about 500 bucks and i did not know that you had to take off all the bearings just to replace one so thats a good thing to know
would it be better to get it done at a mitsubishi dealership or at a local shop?
any help would be appreciated

Dealership = jacked up cost.

Depending on what is knocking... might be a spun bearing, might be a rod knock or how ever unlikely... might be crankwalk.

Motors that have these kinds of problems and have had a cheap/quick fix like you suggested, typically dont last long.

If you ask me it would be much easier to pick up a motor and drop it in.

Find a junk motor!

Joshuwuh (sorry i know i spelt it wrong) has access to a wrecked car with the motor in tact.
