I saw a gst spyder on a lot today.... pricing at 3500, and i might just go for it, its all clean and stock but the taillights and some ricey declas on the side ill get rid off easy... question is....
97 4g63 are still prone to crankwalk right? i mean, next time i go there ill check on the bolts, but i wanna know if its possible for it to walk the crank cuz i might sell my daily driver to get that....

yes 97 is a 7 bolt year. all of them from 92.5 through 99 are 7 bolts.

 

I wouldnt worry too much about it. Usually you can tell how hard the car has been driven by the amount of oil on the valve cover.

 

well ok, theres not much oil on the cover... not whitie resuides on the oil cap... but there are misleading things on it... 170000 k's.... new shifter, new pedals.... and it has a fart can and an intake.... (Dirty as ****!!!!!) so im kinda skeptical about it... and i looked for it on kelleys blue book and it says its a good price for it... but im still unsure.... i dont wanna trade a dd for a non reliable ride hahaha

 

test drive it if you can see if everything feels right. its a 5 speed? just becareful and make sure it is not going to blow up on you in 5000 miles.

 

sounds like it was beat on by a ricer. IMO i wouldnt buy it.

 

Well... if the motor as been reved to all hell, it should be evident on the valve cover.

 

Im not saying its been revd to hell. Im just saying as far as keeping well maintained. Such as the turbo could be shot. Never knowit might have been overboosted or something. im just saying. There are other unknowns as well like the suspension. Who knows how well he drove the car. To me with that kinda mileage i dont even think id want to mess with it, especially if your looking for a DD

 

forget about it.... the car was not treated violently, apparently street raced only every once in a while... howevr it was obviously neglected.... wouldnt start on the seller, everything is rusted behind the wheels.... and i kinda need reliability... ill wait til no one buys it, he drops the price and buy it to have it sitting down at my garage
