Default JUST BOUGHT

[:@]a '95 talon awd. it's blowing smoke like crazy at idle. it really blows smoke when you are driving, but it tends to not blow as bad when you are driving a constant speed. but if you decrease speed for any reason, it's like a burnout contest! the turbo was replaced i was told. it looks brand new. i'm wondering if it's valve seals or the turbo wasn't properly installed? any advice would be highly appreciated!

it's oil without a doubt. the coolant stayed full. the oil was full when i left leesburg. i was driving home to orange county which is about 90 miles away. the oil light came on when i was pulling into my drive way. after letting the car sit awhile. i checked the ground for possible oil leaking spots and there weren't any. possible vavle stem seals or piston rings. . . that would be my guess for burning that much oil

if you are just looking for a daily driver that is reliable you have a good car if you rebuild it or fix your problem. if you are looking for a speed demon. SELL THE CAR you won't get anymore than 150whp out of the car (on a dynojet) without spending at last 4k to turbo the car. trust me, i've been there.

RCJ read his post he has a awd tsi . not a 420a. Jackson Auto Machine is a good place to go to. But the first thing i would do is a compression test on the cylinders. Its cheap and easy to do and that will let you know what problems you have

hey chief...the car is already turbo charged. i plan on spending that amount on getting the motor degrease, and stroked. i just want to know if buy and install a new turbo, will that get rid of my problem. or do i have to send it to a shop to get the valve seals done.

my bad, i was thinking about a different post and a different person. i don't think the turbo is your problem. sounds like something internal, like the rings or seals. if you are going to stroke it, you will need a larger turbo or you will be wasting your money, what did you have in mind?

i've heard about doing a compression test! because i'm pretty sure that the man that wheni bought this car from, hesaid, that he had it done already. that's when the tech told him to buy a new turbo. i even have that stock turbo, and it has alot of shaft play. (forward & back)
