Default kamikazee coil? No spark

Back when I first started working on my 1995 RS eclipse I replaced the spark plugs and wires, but left the coil. It turned over fine, so I didnt feel the need to replace it. For over a year I have had no problem starting the car other than needing a battery, its just been getting jumped.

I havent turned the car over in a couple months, honestly. I was supposed to have a buyer take a look today and she wouldnt start. I got a new battery, fresh gas, starting fluid... nothin. Shell crank and try to start but wont actually fire up. My bother in law tried some kinda test, putting a screwdriver into the spark plug wires to see if itll get any spark when tying to turn. Nothing.

Im wondering if anyone else can come up with an idea as to what could be going wrong? I thought maybe the coil just quit on me, but for $110 I dont wanna replace that just to be wrong. I also noticed the ground cable attached to the transmission appeared to arc when trying to turn it over. Any ideas? I need help asap, Thisw guys interested in swapping his built 3kgt for my eclipse, but has to be done soon.

Try cleaning the terminals on the coil, use high grit sandpaper to do so.

Thank you, I will definitely give it a try, I will hopefully get a positive response, otherwise Ill probably end up going the route of an MSD ignition coil, but I sont have the time for that. I need my car running and swapped by the 13th

Okay, so I was told that it could be the ignition coil module, rather than the coil itself. Not exactly something Im familiar with, but with a little insight from more experienced mitsubishi owners I think I can manage to fix this one.

Sooo does anyone have any insight on this project? I dont know where its located, or how much itll be to replace. I need help asap, I need the car running next week to swap for the 3000gt

Okay so turns out apparently someone tied to steal my starter. One of the bolts is gone entirely and the other was half removed. It was loose enough to wiggle and see the sepaation from where it should be firmly mounted. Upon attempting to start the car after this was rectified, we could hear metal shavings stirring about in the starter. Im guessing that attempting to srart it so many times with the starter so loose, the gear inside probably got chewed up, and now doesnt have the teeth to catch and start.

Sound like a possibility or not so much? I need it running this week. Any help I can get from people would be amazing. Im really looking forward to this 3000gt, I cacn get another eclipse in the spring if I play my cards right, but this guy has $10k under the hood. I cant pass that up.

Okay, new starter in, but still not getting spark. Im back to the coil theory, as I have new wires, plugs, battery and starter. What else is there along that line?
