I have posted this up to other forums but still curious to what this knocking sound is. Start up the engine dead cold and it will knock and as I rev up the engine it'll knock faster. Sometime when it is warm up it seems to go away but will come back. I took it to a the dealer and the said that they heard a slight tick, but to me it sounds like a knock......have this problem for a year now and I cant figure what it is...I've been driving it no problem...

Can you record the noise and post it? Also can you pinpoint which cylinder is knocking?

 

probably just a lifter tick

 

it could be a small exhaust leak the only reason i thing that is he says it go's away when the car warms up so the expantion could be sealing up the leak its just a thought

 

yea i was thinking either a lifter tick or the exhaust leak... have someone sit in the car when you first start and have you listen under the hood to pinpoint where the noise is coming from

 

I'll get a recorded video of the car tomorrow when its dead cold...it may be lifter tick but it doesnt sound like it to me....I'm sure there is no leak anywhere...I last check and If I am correct its coming from the 2 or 3 Cyl.
