Learning THe Standard
Just wondering how long it took you guys to learn how to drive your "standard/manual" car. Like to be able to drive it regularly.

RE: Learning THe Standard
never thought I'd hear that one, but I learned when I was a little kid, on a 72 toyota landcrusier, no power steering, power brakes, and 3 gears. Damn that thing was a dog. My grandpa still has it actually

RE: Learning THe Standard
i learned on a '77 MG. 4 speed, no power steering. transmission was crap before i started, and even worse when I got finished. i stalled 8 TIMES trying to back out of my driveway. it took me about 2 months to get to where i didn't grind any gears.

RE: Learning THe Standard
I have a 20 yr friend that just got his license, which is pretty funny, but he keeps asking him to find a car and he wants an auto because he doesnt know how to drive a stick, and I keep telling him u gotta have a stick, he says " no way dude I cant handle that" and then I've told him, alright well u get that auto and then in 1 mo you'll wish u never bought it and should of gotten a manual. But whatever. LOL
