Default Looking for final confirmation of RPM surging

This will be my 2nd to last post on this clutch matter of mine, im just looking for some last minute opinions. Im in a 99 GST and it has 133k miles. Any gear im in mainly 2-5th since I dont step on it in 1st gear has an RPM surge problem. For instance entering a freeway still in 3rd at about 3k RPM. Ill accelerate quickly say about 75-85% throttle and for a few seconds the car will pick up speed. Then in a split second it stops accelerating like the transmission disconnected and the RPM continues to raise rapidly with the throttle still stepped on. From that point im just in a roll with no power until I let go of the throttle, then I have to let the RPM drop to normal before I have to slowly accelerate to get moving again. This happens in any gear at any speed during the same conditions. The stock boost gauge doesnt give me any weird readings or anything so im hoping its not a boost leak/problem or something like that. Hope thats enough info to help confirm its the clutch like I think it is. The reason I ask again is because my ACT 2100 Street just arrived and its gonna cost a pretty penny to install. Thanks for any info.

Thanks guys, Ill be taking my car in probably tomorrow and they said it would be done same day too. They were trying to offer me a warranty only if I bought the factory parts off of them though. But I figured I was better off with the ACT 2100 because it can handle the power better. Or am I better off with stock and a warranty? The place is Aamco so they cant mess around like a private garage can.
