Default lost power while driving!

driving down the interstate and engine powered itself down. guages shut off. still have battery power.. when i try to start it back up it turns over but wont start. occasionally will start for a second back fire than shut itself off.. anyone help me out and let me know whats up with it??

96 eclipse 2.0l NT no mods.. jus intake and exhaust

first check to see if you have spark. Then maybe check the fuel....you didnt run out of gas did you?

I jus filled up so I got gas. Replaceed the camshaft position sensor changed plugs n wires.. only thing I haven done is changed the fuel pump or checked the fuel filter to see if its clogged. N I didn't check for. Spark but ill do that next.

o yo get power to the accesories or do you just have a charged battery?

i was told that my timing belt mite have skipped a tooth and my timing is off how can i fix that and could the timing belt tensioner be the issue?

a tensioner could definetly cause this issue, but you are going to want to inspect the timing belt to verify that is the problem

If your getting spark and fuel, perform a compression test.
