Default miss firing

Hey all… having a little trouble with the eclipse, it keeps miss firing… I replaces the spark plus and wires along with the coil… and just had the injectors looked at, by a mechanic, along with a full engine diagnosis… and from what he said nothing seems to be wrong other then I will more then likely have to rebuild my engine to replace its gaskets soon… he suggested I put some seafom in the oil and the gas…. But other then that was else could I look at to improve the miss firing???

Not sure about the posting thing, but as far as the misfiring...

Well I took it to the mechanic and he said compression was down in cylinder 2 and 3, so he did something to it to fix it…. so before I took it to him it was misfiring at wot, but now it seems to be misfiring at idle when I’m at a stop light… oh and it’s a rs with the 420a motor…. Hope that helps

how are your gaskets? you can be having a loss of compression from a borken one, check for leaks

did you check for spark on each plug? what do they look like, oil on the tips? do you have oil coming from the head gasket? did YOU do a compression test after the mech. did, just so you know he did f- up? did you change your oil and if or when you did is there coolant in the oil?

just a few questions that poped into my head reading this

i dont kno how to check for compression, thats y i took it to a mechanic. as far as spark plugs go
cylinder 2’s spark plug is always dirty, but its not oily... the head gasket was just replaced about a year ago, but it does look like there is some fresh oil around it, but it could be oil from b4 idk... and i just did the oil the other day and it had no coolant init... and how do i check for a brocken gasket with my hand and feel if there is aire coming out???

Mmmhhh.... compression test hahaha, its not that hard, you connect a gauge where the spark plug goes, unable the coil, and crank it up, thats called dry, and if you pour a lil oil on it, its called a wet one http://autos.yahoo.com/maintain/repa...ques056_1.html
Also if im not wrong... i think that a worn borken headgasket can be localized if you find a lil white residue in the oil cap.... i think, that im not that sure about it...

well on the yahoo link that was posted up above it says

"If compression is low in one or more cylinders, you can isolate the problem to the valves or rings by squirting a little 30 weight motor oil into the cylinder through the spark plug hole and repeating the compression test. The oil temporarily seals the rings. If the readings are higher the second time around, it means the rings and/or cylinder is worn."

that wut the guy at the shop told me he did, so now how do i go about fixing that???

If its the rings or cylinder it would be undoing the bottom end so you can pull them and replace whatever is wrong, people say that its a good way for checking out for a broeken headgasket... but in my opinion a vacuum gauge would help, it appears as a flucuating needle as the rpms increase.
