i tried researching this but do the 1g eclipse motor non turbo fit into a 2g (96) eclipse non turbo...it seems like thats the only motor i can come across thats not turbo'd, and i was just wondering if it would fit... and are there any mods i would have to make? also are there any down sides to doin it?

just to give you a quick explanation. You have a chrysler motor while all the other eclipses have a mitsu engine

 

You can check for a Dodge Avenger, or a Dodge Neon. They have the same enging as your gs/rs.
