Motor Swap
I Have A 97' Mitsubishi Eclipse RS 2.0 Non-Turbo And I Want To Motor Swap It. I Want To Get A 4G63T But I Don't Know If It Will Fit My Car. My Friends Say That It Might Not Be Possible To Motor Swap My Car With That Engine, But I Think It Can.If Anyone Knows How To Do It And What I Need For It To Be Done, Let Me Know.

Got with the HRC kit if you want forced induction. An engine swapis not suggested. It may seem like you have hope for the engine swap, but in reality, it's a very difficult job, and very expensive. It's not like swapping Honda engines or Chevy small blocks, This isa manufacturer swapping issue. If it were as easy as it sounds, then you'd see a lot of Dodge Neon's, Sebrings, and Avengers with a 4g63 turbo engine. There is no kit to help with the swap, and hardly any documentation of someone performing the swap. The point is, as blunt as this may sound, it's much cheaper now and in the long run to sell your car and buya Turbo Eclipse.

???something's not adding up????

I can almost maybe understand an RS running 14's. Good amount of mods and a very good driver and some weight removal....But an Accord Type R? With the DOHCVTEC F22A? Available only in Europe and Japan? How does your buddy have one?

Well, It Is Hard To Believe That My Car Is Running 14s. I Think It Has Alot To Do With My Driving Skills. I've Been Getting To Know My Car Alot More Everytime I Run It. My Friend's Type R Is An F20B I Think. He Bought It Off Some Website. He Runs 13s But Once He Masters It, I Think He Will Be Running 12s Or Better. I Think I Will Go Turbo. Selling My Car And Buying A Turbo Eclipse.... Hmm. Sounds Like A Good Idea, But I Put Too Much Money Into My Car Already. I Think I Might Just Modify My Car And See How Far i Can Take It, Then Just Get Another One.

uhhh....are you talking 1/8 miles or something....i'm not sure we're on the same track here....

Well, your boy's got the Accord SiR engine. The European Type R(actually the only accord type r, sorry about the last reference to japan) comes with an H22, not the f series like i mentioned before(i'm rusty on my honda tech). Driving skills can only take you so far, after a certain point it's up to the car to take it the rest of the way. Turbodsm's run 14's and high 13's with mods, sooooo....ya see? It's not easy to get a 420a into the 14's.
