My 1999 mitsubishi eclipse rs is havin problems. when i brake it revs up and slowly revs down. and hesitates to stop.it doesnt have cruise control but say im goin 60 miles the rpm gauge will stay at 2500rpm intilll i break. just got new valves and timming belt. also if i throw it in neutral it revs up to 2000rpm. its automatic. does anybody know whats wrong

 

check ur air idle control sencer and valve

where is that located at

 

He means the BISS screw. Its located under a rubber cap on your throttle body. Do a search for BISS screw and you will find many pics on how to locate it. I doubt this will solve your problem.

If you ask me i say your cruise control module or something to do with that has gone bad. I could be totally wrong because i have no clue!

doesnt have it. like ill be goin 40 and let off the gas and it will stay at 40 at 1500rpm. when i break it will slowly go down then rev up. its werid

 

Thats ****ed up man. Defenatly a computer problem. If i was you i would say try taking one of your battery terminals off and pumping the ABS and waiting till the system is totally drained of power and then try again. Hope that works for you.
