Is my turbo going bad?

Is my turbo going bad?
I have a 95 Eclipse GST with 184,000 miles, all stock, except K&N filter, gutted cat. My problem is this: I have watched my stock boost guage before and it would d@m near get to the last line at the top.The guage would show its highest boost at about 2800-3000 rpms in 4th and 5th gear. Now it barely goes past the line below the top line.Everything seems to run fine; at idle, steady speed, with boost, etc. When I am in 4th or 5th and floor it now it doesnt seem to pull as hard as it used to. Is my turbo starting to die? I just noticed this problem within the past couple days, for some odd reason I happened to check the boost gauge for some reason, probably cause I was bored. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

The stock boost gauge is crap, install an aftermarket one and see what exactly is going on. But in the mean time pull off the intake hose and checkfor shaft play in/out, up/down and also do a boost leak test.

yup, the stock gauge is worthless, take the intake off and make sure the wheel doesn't move it can move a bit up and down but not too much and should not move in and out if it does then its on its way out and time to upgrade.

Boost leak checks are essential to turbo cars. There is a lot of pressure put on those hoses and clamps to expect them to hold forever is asking way too much from them.

Thanks everybody! I will deal with it the way it is for now, butwhenit warms up I will be sure to build a tester and get an aftermarket guage. Question now is when I do the boost test and get an aftermarket guage, what exactly is the stock boost with factory t-25 and restrictor removed from solenoid. I ask this cause I hear and see so many different answers.

The 2Gs are 10 to 15 psi, but the stock BOV leaks around 12psi.

In the mean time, you could also tighten your clamps and check all the hoses for cracks and make sure the hoses aren't loose on the nipple(s), to include the EGR equipment.
