ok. i have a 1997 eclipse spyder. it had the 2.4 sohc motor in it. that motor blew so i pulled a 4g63 6 bolt and trans out of a 1991 eagle talon. some people say that it will work some say it wont. one guy said that i would need the wiring harness and ecu out of the talon so i got that too just incase i do need it. another guy said that i might need to fabricate stuff which i dont see what i would need to fabricate becausei had the motor in the car but the rear mountwouldnt line up because the 2.4 rear mounts on the trans but on the 4g63 its on the motor so it needs togo like 5" to the right.also i was told that i might be able to get a jumper to go from 2nd gen to 1st gen. im not sure what i should do or if its even possible. if it is how much work do i need to do?

 

It will work. It has been done before.

Personally... if you want my advice... i say sell everthing and just buy one.

 

do u mean it will work like get the rear mount to work and its in or do you mean im gonna have to change a lot to do it?

 

Your goin to ahve to a lot of custom fabrication, according to others experience. I don't know for myself tho.

 

it shouldnt be too difficult...if im not mistaken and correct me if im wrong sebba but i think the 4g64 that was in your spyder has quite a few similarities to the 4g63...even if it was a 4g63 7bolt that you had and you were swapping to the 6 bolt i think you would still have to do a little something for that mount...

 

yes it will work with minor mods. its much easier then the 420a to 4g63t swap i know that.

 

what kinda mods are we talkin? cause i know i need to take something out toget the inner cooler in.
