if you know how to time it rent the equip form a place like autozone and do it yourself. if not see if anyone you know dose it. and last worstcase get a tower to tow it to a place to do it. my insurance on my car will pay for any towing i have. see if they will cover it if not towing is only about 40-80 bucks for in twon tow here.

What year car do you have? The Vfaqs have a write-up on how to adjust timing on the 1g cars, so you might wanna check that out.

That or get the Haynes manual. Timing an engine isn't HARD per say it's just a pain to pull off and get right on some cars.

With a DOHC engine especially don't try to pull it off unless you're absolutely sure of what you're doing. Though you MAY want to try adjusting the distributor your timing may not be off it may just be your distributor off a little (Adjusting the distributor won't fukk the engine up just make it run like pure dookie or possibly help it run a bit better).

Oh yeah good point Gah I'm too used to the old V-8's (I LOVE my '64 Dodge though the 318 is SOOOOO easy to work on no vacuum or electronics or ANYTHING like that YAY)

If you're not sure how to do it, DON'T. You have to disassemble the entire driver side of the engine to get the timing belt. It's not a job for the evening. More like a weekend or so.
Unless you are totally sure you know what you are doing.

And don't drive your car if timing is off!!!!
