on the gst head what sensor is on the intake camshaft on the timming belt side and will that sensor work on the gsx ecu?

 

just my thought i would assume it is the cam position sensor... i dunno if it will work on the gsx

 

It should be the same. there the same engine.. I think the ecu is the same also besides having a speed limiter on the gst.

 

It depends on the years of the cars. What year is the GST and what year is the GSX? Yes it's the cam angle sensor. If they are different years it'll work as long as you swap the plug wires (4123 to 3214).

Edit: What exactly are you doing?

 

You only need to swap the plug wires if its a 1st gen and 2nd gen.. If there both 2nd gens you wont need to.

 

well i have a 98 gs spyder....kept the block and took a gst head(96 i believe) and swapped it out...so i would have a 2.4l dohc...all hooked up to 98 gsx ecu....reason why i asked cause usually the sensor is on the opposite side of the timming belt...and the gst head never came with it on that side so really just tryn to hook up the cam angle sensor....but my biggest issue is that it doesnt spark(when hooked uop to the sensor on the timming side...

 

can you take a picture of what your talking about because the cam sensor is on the left side of the engine bay (opposite the cam gears)

 

so what sensor is on the where the timming belt side..(intake cam)...pics will be up later
