can someone tell me if i need shocks springs or coilovers or all of the above. what the difference in coilovers and springs

 

Springs are just the springs. You will need shocks/struts to make the ride better. Coilovers are like spings only they have a perch so you can raise and lower the car to whatever height you want. Springs you can not do this. It is always going to be a fixed drop.

 

Well, it really all depends on personal preference. I've had only good experiences w/coil overs. But, i've made sure that I have a good suspension set up. Koni's are the route I decided to go. My ride is a bit rough, but that's on the street, and Alabama roads suck. I have no problems when I drive home to Miami & definitely no problems on the track (auto x or strip). My current setup is HP Racing coil over suspension w/the Koni adjustables, front and rear strut braces. Like Jason stated above, w/springs, you can only do so much, w/CO's, you can adjust the ride height to your preference....but many people will tell you that the ride sucks. That's because they don't spend the money for GOOD aftermarket shocks/struts.

On the red spyder, it's KYB's on Sprint springs...but it's on 19" rollers, so even with those, plus a box of 3 12" subs in the trunk, it still looks about stock height....so the 19s are getting sold or traded for some 17s, 18s the most.
