I have heard a bit about replacing the auto trans in my 95 Eclipse 420a with a Neon auto trans. How is this done and what year and model of a Dodge Neon do I use, What else do I need computer? linkage? Will it have overdrive? will my shifter change also? Where do I get performance parts to make this Neon trans turbo freindly?

 

Idk about the auto trans from a neonm the only transmission that will bolt up to a 420a is the 5spd out of a 98 neon r/t which is the strongest tranny avable for the 420a in the eclipse/talon. Their are also no "turbo strength" auto parts, a lot of guys put dodge stratus gears in it (from the 2.5 420a). besides that, thats about it.

 

ALright I got unlazy and sis some reading, you can swap the internals of the 3.55 final drive of the neon tranny's into your car, but you just cant change the bellhousing... due to the auto/stick situation. If your instrested in this mod pm me and ill send you a link to the site.

Really? I would have thought it would give you SOME type of performance boost...

 

its like switching from 353 gears to 355 gears in a rwd car... its only a lil bit of performance.
