If its turning over i dont think its the alternator. If the battery was repeatidly dieing then maybe it would be the alternator. My guess is something like the CAS or along those lines. It sounds to me like the CAS was shorting out and then it finally died. All those that agree say W0000t

thanks man. so where is the CAS located? is this something easy to get to or it a bitch? something that can be tested or just replaced? I appriciate all the advice, I havent had the chance to get to know my way around my first mitsu engine before the damn thing broke on me.

 

Located on the crank... or located on the valve cover. Looks like a black hokey puck

 

ok, I've replaced the cam sensor (after having to re-wire the damn thing so the plug would match up) replaced the fuel relay, the fuel filter, the battery, checked all my fuses, re-tested the fuel pump which (which seems to be working fine) and still nothing. It cranks and cranks and wont fire up. When I first crank it after letting it sit for a day or so, it will start right up, sputter and then die.

I've spent 200 bucks on the above things that were not the problem, and now I'm afraid I'm going to have to bend over and take it to the shop...Anyone else have any suggestions before I do??
