i was looking at a 1997 gs eclipse. it has 99000 miles on it. how much hp can i expect from it. btw it is a 5 speed!

 

not alot. they are slow and with mods they dont get to much faster. a GST or GSX will respond to modds well though

 

a GS is fun to drive... But if you ever drive a gst or a gsx you will ask yourself why you bought the GS...

i drive a 99rs and i love it.. i drove a gst and a gsx and i dont car if its turbo i bought mine for the looks. if i want to go fast ill drive my 98rx7tt.

 

Well stock they make 140hp to the crank. After a bunch of boltons (intake, hedder, full exaust, udp, 60mmtb, plugs/wires... about 2g worth of ****) expect to see 170 to the crank. Depending on your skill as a driver your 1/4 mile time is going to be about 16.00

 

ok, can i put a turbo on the gs or not?

Good every day driver....but you may want something a little faster just so that you dont have to worry about being on the highway and not able to merge inton traffic with ease or passing people etc....I had that problem for a while and it was so annoying... the car isnt fast by any means ...and your better off buying a different model that comes with the hp your looking for.... vs. buying this car and getting it to the hp you want my modding it, and still it wont be quick, just better than it was
