Default New Clutch

I'm getting ready to do my clutch and flywheel, but I'm confused on which fly wheel to buy... Before we all start with the "95-99" eclipses have the 7 bolt engine.. let me explain... My car has the 2g body, but its production date was in 94'. What are your opinions on this? I just don't want to have to stop in the middle of a clutch job and have to order a different flywheel. I also don't want to just do the clutch and wait on the fly wheel. Its AWD and if I only have to drop the tranny once and replace everything thats what I'm gonna do haha... Let me know guys. Thanks

you have a gsx so its still a 4g63t motor. they stopped like mid 92 for the 6-bolt so even my 93 had a 7-bolt from the factory. get an ACT XACT 7-bolt streetlite flywheel and an act 2600 clutch if your planning on further mods. but the 2100 will do fine for slightly modded cars.

Thanks brother... thats exactly what I was going to get (ACT 2600). I just wanted to make sure on the bolt pattern.

everyone has their opinions, mine is 2600 for any awd car regardless of how many mods you have.
flywheel for a budget id say get a stock lightened flywheel from roadrace or a fidanza if you want to spend a little more.

also while your on the drivetrain stuff, you might want to disconnect the clutch start switch for some added safety

i woudlnt call that safety considering i seen someone run their car through the garage door like that, Engine safety yes, personal safety no.
good idea tho to keep the wear off the thrust bearing.

haha, yea ive seen people do that as well. Also it keeps the wear off the crank under low oil pressure conditions

yeah I already have the switch disconnected. Its not a problem though because I keep the car in neutral anyway because of the turbo time.. haha I got plenty of mods but the signature only holds so much and you can't list them all ;-) Everything is pretty much as good as it gets on the top end. The block is still good, no walking problems. The next step is the drivetrain. Let me tell you how much I'm dreading the clutch job though haha...

egh, clutches aren't that bad.... doing an EVO clutch... now there's a freakin nightmare! me and 2 of my buddies did one about 2 months or so ago with nothing but a jack and 4 jackstands lol took us about 3 days of working at our own pace... not fun!
