Default New Intake Problems

Hey I just put a new intake on my eclipse. It one I got off Ebay. Anyhow, installation went well. We reset the ECU by disconnecting the negative bettery terminal for 5 mins. We then took the car for a drive. But everytime we come to a stop the car idle goes all the way down and sometimes stalls!! Whats the dael with this? Anyone know?

sounds like a leak somewhere. Like he said, most likely around the MAS or around the intake manifold

When you reset the ecu it will do that (on a 420a that is) try driving it again it should fix its self.

well he says in his sig. that its a gst. Not sure if thats his car. But if thats the case then it also could be a leak somewhere else. Make sure that you put all the hoses back on

ok, so this is what i did. I let the car just run on idle for about 30mins and now its not stalling or anything. Everything seems to be working properly. When I ran the car the first time I didn't do this. That may have been the problem. What do you'll think? And yes it is a GST.

420a = Non turbo 2.0 motor in the 95-99 Eclipse

Did you recirculate your BOV into the new intake properly chaces are that is the problem if you did recirc make sure the dump off hose is not cracked

When you reset the ecu it needs to re learn the way the car runs, mine does it every time I reset the ecu. the r's will chill up at 26, then drop to the norm, then gradually get lower untill pooft! After that I restart the car and it works great.

wel i dont think that the 420a's are like the 4g63, because it should continue to do it. There must be a leak. Maybe a picture of the engine will help
