Ok let me first say welcome to DSM's.

Now as far as the work of doing this and getting it all installed, you can do it yourself. I dont care if you have no mechanic experience. When its comes to small upgrades like these, anyone can do them. And everyone has to start somewhere. This is the perfect car to start learning how to install stuff on. Here is a list in pretty much order:

1. Intake and exhaust. This is where you want to start because its the basics of getting a car modded. Easy to install. Will all be bolt-on
- as for which brands its really up to you. But the general good brands on intakes are injen and dejon powerhouse. For the exhaust you could go with magnaflow, greddy, hks, megan, apexi

2. Manual boost controller and boost guage. MBC's are simple to install and you can get them anywhere. JoeP MBC is a nice cheap one. And boost guages are also relatively cheap.

After this you can get into the turbo upgrade which will include

1.16g. This is bolt on to the stock system. all you need is an install kit. Look around this site for some of these parts www.dsmparts.com

2. Everything else is all the supporting mods that everyone has been telling you

oh and about the turbo kit (which you were thinking is usually like 2k) well the thing is they are that expensive when you actually need an entire kit which usually includes manifold, turbo, lines. However all you need is a turbo since its bolt on to the system you currently have
